Inside the Making of Fashion

A multi-sensory salon that brought the hidden production of a fashion show into view. Set within a dark, seductive environment, the evening invited guests into the making of fashion, with models, artists, photographers, and stylists creating in real time before four designer collections took the runway.

CONCEPT & CREATIVE DIRECTION

The making became the performance.

I developed the salon around the creative exchanges that usually happen backstage. Preparation, experimentation, and collaboration became part of the experience, allowing guests to encounter the people and decisions behind the finished look.

The dark, cinematic atmosphere framed these live encounters, drawing the audience into a world where the distinction between rehearsal and performance remained deliberately open.

CURATION & PROGRAMMING

Fashion unfolding in real time.

Models, photographers, and stylists worked within the space as a live painter created bespoke garments throughout the evening. These moments placed the act of making alongside the work itself.

Four curated designer collections unfolded through a runway presentation staged as a progression, extending the evening’s movement from creative process to completed look. Headlining artist Angela Nikolau, featured in Netflix’s Skywalkers: A Love Story, brought her perspective on movement, risk, and creative expression to the program.

EXPERIENCE & IMPACT

An invitation into the creative world.

The NYFW Closing Salon gave guests access to a process usually concealed behind the runway. Artists, designers, and creative collaborators shared a setting in which their contributions could be experienced together.

The result was an intimate celebration of fashion as a living, collaborative practice, revealing the artistry and experimentation behind its final presentation.
